What you do as Procurement & Contract Manager Light Industry

As a Procurement & Contract Manager, you are expected to deliver success on procurement and contracting strategies for projects in green- and brown-field manufacturing environments.  

You assist our clients through the full lifecycle of contract procurement, tender assessment, selection of suppliers and contractors, negotiation, placement and administration of contracts to help support the safe delivery of value for money solutions for our client’s manufacturing projects and programmes.  

Your main responsibilities consist of: 

  • To take the lead role in providing specialist procurement and contracting strategy advice to multinational clients;
  • To advise your internal and external clients on contract forms, tendering methods and product and supplier choices; 
  • To translate contractual obligations into terms of delivery and to negotiate with suppliers;
  • Working together with the project manager and engineering team to assemble the bidpackage; 
  • To actively support the development of our procurement and contracting services;
  • To identify and control costs and commercial risks & opportunities in support of the Program/ Project Execution Plans; 
  • Manage the contracted parties for a timely delivery of their deliverables;
  • To be a key player in stakeholder management, you will expertly develop stakeholder relationships with suppliers and clients whilst guiding and managing the wider team to deliver key objectives; 
  • To operate in an international context and anticipate short-, medium- and long-term travel.

The Project Management & Consultancy team consists of highly experienced and solution-oriented project managers and consultants with extensive experience in large-scale, multidisciplinary projects in various sectors. Our goal is to achieve higher productivity and lower operating costs for our clients through technical optimisation. Together with our clients, we place projects in a broader perspective. We have a clear vision of the built environment and industry. The impact of the environment goes beyond pure functionality and touches on the quality of life. Recent innovations show up best in new (industrial) buildings, and their benefits are measurable. But what about existing buildings? Renovating, refurbishing or converting existing buildings brings new challenges. And sustainable solutions for buildings as well as for production processes and utility systems require smart thinking.

What you bring

You are an entrepreneurial, result oriented, communicative, proactive individual with a positive flexible and problem-solving attitude. Besides that, you recognize yourself in the points below: 

  • Significant strategic procurement and contract management experience in the manufacturing environment, in sectors like food & beverage, pharmaceutical, electronics and consumer goods; 
  • Highlighted experience of building efficient procurement and contracting strategies, from inception to completion;
  • Experience in preparation of investment execution plans and related requests for quotations for EPCM projects;
  • Relevant contract experience like UAV, UAV gc, FIDIC and similar bespoke Conditions of Contract;
  • Experience of building and maintaining a trusted advisor status with clients;
  • Confident in managing multiple stakeholders: liaising with client teams, suppliers, contractors, consultants and more;
  • An international mindset and willingness to travel for assignments;
  • Preferably a network within the food & beverage, pharmaceutical or other manufacturing sectors.  

Furthermore, you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 
  • A degree in Nevi 1 (and 2) or other relevant professional procurement certifications;
  • Over 5 years of experience in procurement and contracting; 
  • Affinity with the process industry is preferred, preferably in the food & beverage, pharmaceutical or other manufacturing sectors; 
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language. 

You will be based in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Nijmegen, or Eindhoven. As our clients are based all over the Netherlands and internationally, flexibility towards traveling is expected.
